I have a 6680 and ttm5 (version 5.000(419)) given that i got tt long before it was announced for the p910i what would i need to do to get things working? does my version work with the 7710? i had never looked before so i dont know when tt added support for this!?!

as far as i know
i believe you will have to purchase another copy of tt that is compatible with whichever of these two phones you decide to buy them
there are threads on this forum that explain

| i wouldn't upgrade to p910i as it is old now and have old specs. |
