I would recommend that you do not get a cradle that includes the GPS unit and that you should use a bluetooth GPS unit. Whilst at the moment you may only wish to use your PDA in a cradle in the car, in the future you may well want to use the PDA and GPS in other situations, also if you change PDAs, you will need a new cradle which with an integrated GPS, would mean a new GPS unit as well.
I have a 5500 and I use the Seidio G2500 active mount and various BT GPS units. The earlier Seidio units were of terrible build quality and Seidio's customer service (it is overseas) is useless. Fortunately I bought from a decent supplier (globalpositioningsystems) who exchanged the units for the later build (which is excellent) under warranty. The unit has a 5V output to charge the BT GPS unit and is also capable of connecting to a hardwired GPS unit. |

Thanks for invaluable information. I have now looked into cradle(s) and will go down the route you suggested and purchase. _________________ HP IPAQ H5550. Pocket PC 2003. Seidio Cradle mount.

Thanks for info. Have now bought one and fitted. Excellent product, with the added bonus of being able to charge my Bluetooth GPS via additional lead connect via mount. |
