Starting a new thread after reading about a few mishaps etc.
DONT cut the plug off the cigarette lighter cable if you intend to hard wire as this plug is 12v down to 5v, use another cigarette lighter extension cable & cut the plug off this instead.
DON'T leave your i3 in the car when you park or any would be thieves could knick it. Only takes seconds for a thief.
DO make sure when you are using Mapsource to transfer waypoints to your i3, you have the maps box in the "what to send" screen UNTICKED or you could write over the original maps on your card.
DO keep a copy of your original Splash Screen safe if you are using xImage to replace the Splash Screen with your own version or altering the original. You might need to return it if it becomes faulty.
These are just a few, please add any more you can think of. |

Be very carefull when updgrading/downgrading the Firmware.
Make sure things like screensavers and other programs are shut down. If anything goes wrong before the download to the I3 is 100% complete you may well end up with an unserviceable unit. |

also if you kill your I3 through your own stupidity, feel free to lie / not tell the whole truth when you take it back for a replacement. |

As Garmin advertise the I3 as the size of a baseball, it is possible to use it as one.
Set a speed camera proximity alert for 70 mph in the vacinity of your back garden then play catch with a friend with a baseball glove.
If you can bowl like Freddy Flintoff the I3 should beep in flight.
DONT DO THIS UNLESS YOUR PAL WITH THE BASEBALL GLOVE IS A REALLY GOOD CATCH. |
