for those who are interested you can load up metroguide usa version 4.01 onto a virgin transflash card and then get autorouting and voice navigation on it...if you dont know mg usa v4.01 is the only mapping software that can autoroute, newer versions do not....so if you are off to the states get yourself a blank card and a copy of mg usa v4.01 and you've got an i3 that works over there..... _________________ *************************** |

As far as I know, only City Select and City Navigator can do autorouting on the GPS.
I thought Metro Guide could only do routing on the PC - or am I confused. _________________ Gone fishing! |

skippy ..the only metroguide to do autorouting is the usa version 4.01...i used this software on two previous usa visits on a 60c and it worked very well...today i loaded it onto a virgin transflash card and set my new location in florida on the i95 and it navigated to mcd's with voice commands and in 3d view as well....i'm well impressed that i dont have to spend mega bucks on city select software... _________________ *************************** |

Where's the best place to get that version of Metroguide USA? I assume it is an older version, so possibly ebay?

Be wary of buying secondhand (or "pre-owned" in today-speak) map software from eBay - people have had problems with unlock codes and AFAIK Garmin will not issue a new code.
