This sites on GMT +10 ?

Where the hell is that. TASMANIA?
Hi,

It tells me that "All times are GMT"... I think you will find that you have to set up your own particular time zone in your personal profile details.

It confused me at first also!

I e-mailed this to Garmin tech support---
Hello,
There appears to be a great deal of confusion concerning the map update V8
europe for people who have recently purchased the i3.
Some people are getting V8 while others are getting V7 when they purchase
the unit. Please can you shed any light on this?
Thanks,

=And I got this back----

Dear James
Everyone is getting version 7 version 8 is not out but will be soon.

Regards,
Brad Rose

dont think version 8 is out either, if you look at www.sitesyournotallowedtomention.com where you can download different maps etc the newest is version 7....

if and when version 8 is released though will you be able to update it through the usb cable or will you need to get it put on to the memory card some other way, or even buy a new memory card (the tiny one in the side of the unit) ?

OK the best way to check if you have V8 or not is to see if a particular road that isn't on V7 is now on V8...anybody got any suggestions so that Rother can check it out? If it does find a road that isn't on V7 then it has been proved that V8 has been shipped on new units.

There are too many people saying they have V8, so it must be out there and Garmin obviously don't know what they are saying. However I have looked on there web site and it does say that free upgrades are available (Not V8 yet!) it you unlocked the map source on or after the RELEASE date of a new update. It looks like the release dates are about 1.5 months before the ship date....so lets say it was shipped on new units at the end of October (it would take at least this long to get into stores) then 1.5 months prior to that would make it mid Sept, which I would then think would mean that everybody would get an update as it wasn't launched till end Sept......or I could be totally wrong :D

Sounds good ... but not the message that Garmin are giving if you contact their Tech Support (see my earlier post in this thread).

I have just had my 4 week old i3 replaced with a new one at Halfords. I had a slightly sticky wheel so I had a good excuse.
The whole unit seems to behave slighty differently.
It's a bit faster, has more 'in built' POI's, and has given me the option of a british voice.
If you can change it,,,,,,,,then do!
Plus of course V8 of the map!

Silly question, but which menu option do you have to select in order to display the screen as shown in kevinbev's image?

Settings / Map / Mapsource, it will then show your version.

Hi,

Thanks for that... as I thought, mine is City Select Europe NT V7, and I've only had it for 10 days! Interesting too though that they have now changed from City Select to City Navigator.

Wish we could get a definite confirmation of Garmin's official upgrade policy here, as it all seems a bit unsatisfactory to me.
