|
|
Just got a Yakumo Delta (Mitac MIO 168) PDA with integrated GPS. I am using TomTom 5, which is fine for driving being totally road-based, but useless for rambling.
Any suggestions for alternative software for walking to navigate me back to where I left the car? Also wanted suggestions for boat navigation software.
Regards, John |

Thank you both. I took a look at the microsoft product and it was not obvious if it did off-road or not. I've downloaded the demo of Memory Map V5 and will give that a trial. Coincidentally, the sample 1:25000 map I downloaded was of the place where I often walk my dogs.

John, its lucky coincidence by the sounds of that, unfortunatly I don't think the demo vs will work with the GPS - but you might be able to put the application and map on the PDA to see what it looks like. Watch the prices though the 1:25,000 scale is very good but not cheap. Finally if you haven't got a card reader you will need one for transfering the maps to the PDA, the active sync will work but it takes ages in comparison - Mike |
