There's some good one's here.
You will have to convert to ov2 format to be of use. Just drag the files to Makeov2.exe.
Also be careful that you don't exceed the number of POI's that TT can handle. _________________ Richard

If you download ov2tools from http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/oldboy/TomTomPOI/ the Makeov2.exe file is in there. In Windows Explorer drag the csv file to the Makeov2 and it will convert it.. All the files (exe, csv and bmp) should be in the same Folder on the PC. _________________ Richard

I guess you have tried navigating to "POI in City" this is on TTM5 main menu 2 of 3, you are presented with a list of POI options of which "Restaurants" are just one. You'll find all your MacDonalds, Pizza Huts, KFC's etc in there. An advantage is that having established which restaurant you want to go to, one more click to select it and Tom Tom will take you there. Note that some of the POI's have got phone contacts attached so you can call and book.

How can you put Restaurant and McDonalds in the same category?

No you are correct, but the principle I was suggesting is valid, just a very poor example. In my area there are a few pub-restaurants in the standard "Restaurant" POI category but mostly KFC, MacDonalds, Pizza Hut's - obviously franchises who have paid to be included in the list.
