I notice that TT list several phones as being compatible with their software. With the O2 XDA SP being so new It is not listed.

I've looked at the new O2 XDA smart phone running windows mobile software. Any thoughts on compatability ??

It has bluetooth so should be able to interface to a stand alone GPS unit, ( I hope !).

Any comments appreciated..

i would say that it would work but if tomtom say its not listed as being compatible and you buy it and have problems then you will get no support from them. The XDA is re branded like most PDA's and smart phones

Try having a look at XDA-Developer.com, its a forum specific to XDA devices, this might offer some advice - Mike

Any thoughts as to who makes the O2 XDA Smart phone ?. I wonder if it is the same company that makes all the other types of O2 XDA?.

A friend is buying the TTN5 and bluetooth for his TT compatible phone, I may try his Mini SD in my phone first before going silly and buying it... That way if it works I can go a head and buy it without worries.

Just don't want to screw up his setup Embarassed

Cheers

HTC make all the XDA PDAs. Not sure about the smart phone though.

Looks like the O2 XDA SP is made by "i-mate", and it is a rebadged i-mate SP3i.
The i-mate SP3 looks to be the model used by Orange for the SPV C500 which just happens to be the one my friend has now got working with TTN5 so it looks like I have a good chance that the O2 newer version of the SP3i should also work with TTN5..

Right back to the research....
