PC-Mobile recently created and released their new Bluetooth adapter for Handheld GPS Receivers like Garmin and Magellan. This allows you to transform any of these popular GPS Handheld Receivers into a fully fledged Bluetooth GPS Receiver. This makes it ideal for use when hiking or fell walking allowing you to tuck the adapter away in your pocket and still have less cables when you want to use a Pocket PC with the latest Ordnance Survey style maps.

Sporting over 30 hours and up to 70 hours must make this one of the most longest lasting Bluetooth GPS Receivers using 2xAA Batteries.

I have to agree, this is a great product, I've modified a TomTom 'Y' cable and Ive now been able to use a wired TomTom GPS unit wit BT enabled devices using this device.

My only comment and suggestion would be to include an external power feed, if you need to have this installed in a car there's current no way powering it other than batteries.

A customer is having problem with I-mate PDA2K and TomTom.

At this stage I do nto think it is the fault of the adapter.

Does anyone know if there is any issue/remedy of such combination?

Ronald, providing they use the NMEA 0183v2 driver at 4800 it should be ok.

iPAQ 2210 - NMEA 0183v2 4800 (Bluetooth Serial Port COM8:) - Confirmed

So all they need to do is select the correct Bluetooth COM port and they should be ok.

The rule is for almost any GPS with NMEA 4800 output. So navigation is no problem.

If you are thinking of updating data in the TrakM8, I doubt it will work.
If it does communicate (data transfer) at 4800 there is a chance however.
