I have a Medion MDPNA 175, which is currently telling me my maps are a year old and require updating.
Medion do not supply updated maps and have suggested that I change the software to a different map package...
I believe this unit is running version 4.4 software.
My questions are as follows :-
Can I actually get upto date maps for this unit?
Do I need to change the software?
If so, what to and is it easy to do as I'm no tecno whizz!!
Any help would be great, thanks in advance. |

Mine as also started saying its out of date today and I need to purchase an upgraded map.
If I am to spend money I may as well upgrade the software as well as the map so does anyone know what software I can buy for the Medion MDPNA 175 - do I have to go for Naigon or can I go for Tom Tom or something else.
I have had a look of their own website and it suggests Navigon MobileNavigator5 won't work with the Medion although it says it works with the Bluemedia BM6300 which to my untrained eye looks exactly the same.
Please help! |

There is a hing on the MedionShop that `Medion Navigator 5` is available because on one page where you get the explanation of the maps at the bottom has been added a comment that none of the maps on the Medionshop will work on Medion Navigator 5.
When I remember I intend to call Medion and ask how I can upgrade to Medion navigator 5 and if not, why not. |

I found a company that sells version 5 and below is there reply -
--------------------------------
Hi,
Unfortunately the new navigator 5 software is not compatible with your PDA, also we do not stock Medion products.
You state your using 4.4 version of navigator, which navigator software are you using?
Thanks

So if no product works with the Medion and Medion don't sell upgrades have we been sold a lemon. |

I don't intend calling another company. I intend asking Medion directly. |

Hi,
Did anyone ever find out if the maps can be updated? I purchased one of these from Halfords last month and haven't yet had any warning messages that my maps are out of date...
I'm a bit concerned that I might have purchased a SatNav lemon.... |

By "out of date" does it mean that the time limit is up? Or does it mean that the map is old? (built in reminder function of the software)
I would think it is the latter and I would not worry too much. There cannot be much change in a couple of years that you cannot take notice of in use.
The software side is another matter though, as new software tend to add more and more features. _________________ Pc-Mobile
