this has been covered before ...
what you have to do is copy the cab files across & run from your ppc _________________ TomTom 5001 |

yes tt5 will run on a exec and you will be able to activate it as long as your still within the 3 activation limit which is one initial acivation two second after seven days and 3 six months later other than this you'll have to get intouch with tomtom for an activation code _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. For the postcodes to work use the file explorer on the PDA and make sure the Zip folder is in the root of the SD card, also create an empty folder named "tomtom" (use lower case - and don't try putting the quotation marks on either) - this way works for me, I did try the MyDocuments route as advised from the TomTom web site but it is a gross waste of memory - I can't take the credit for this as Darren highlighted it to me earlier this weekend - Mike |

Steven, Glad you got it working (Thank Darren for the info I just passed it on), so far I haven't put 5,1 on the unit - still trying it in vs5,0 just to see what happens, as to the Exec - I like it and yes more memory is always usefull but so far its not an issue (for me - but it might be when I start to use it fully), the only thing I would really like is a slot for CF cards in addition to the SDIO, that way I could use some of my more exotic cards Digital MultiMeter and data Acquisition devices - they are confined to the 4700 at the moment, otherwise its a nice bit of kit - Mike |
