|
|
I go on organised Motorbike tours and always see places that I'd like to go back too, another day, but can never remember every odd/great road I went down in a 5-6 hour ride.
Is there a bit of software (Cheap/free) I could use that will log the GPS location, say every 2-3mins ?
Can TomTom 5 Navigator (PPC) be used to log where I go ?
(I can't see any logging options)
I also have access to Memory Map 4 and Autoroute 2005 but not used them much.
Has to be PPC software, lugging around a laptop is not an option :D
(Dell Axim and Fortune Clip-On Bluetooth)

i too have thought of this since day one of tomtom5 and the same urge hit me again last night.
just if tomtom5 could log the route its taken you and then at the end of the journey save it to a directory.
i would like that feature! |

If you are running tomtom 5, all you have to do is save your GPS position in favourites. That way uou could travel back there. |

you can install the old TTN3 GPS driver (which supports logging), and then run both TTN5 and TTN3 through GPSGate.
Or you use a program that supports logging natively - like Mapopolis. _________________ Lutz

That would mean stopping every few miles, taking gloves off ..etc
Plus having to tell 30 other bikers to wait a min
Must be a way of loggin as you ride around.
Found a few GPX logger and converters so will try them out.

A colleague has memory map for his cycling and ISTR him saying it can track the route you have taken. |

Memory Map automatically creates a track of where you have been, you can set the track's minimum update interval by both time and distance. It also records the speed, altitude and direction at each track point. You can upload the track to the PC and replay it later.
Memory Map does not calculate routes although you can plot a route you wish to take and it will guide you along that route. It does not recognise roads as such and will allow you to go anywhere you want such as off road, along rivers or canals and footpaths. |
