Recently found myself in possition unable to charge ipaq 3970 for a few days and eventually lost all power. When I did manage to get power to it I had lost many of my program icons inc TTNAV GPSAssist Window Media player and a few others. Had to re-install TTNAV to be able to get it to work. It worked for a few days then got messges unable to find data - at same time was getting many email sync errors - finally discovered my ipaq and Explore from PC is unable to see the SD card. I have tried soft reset but to no avail. SD card is only 6 months old. Has anyone encountered similar - do you think a Hard reset would cure? or is there a simpler solution?

Rob,
Can you see the card using File Explorer on the iPAQ? Alternatively, do you have any facility to read the SD card in another device, e.g. camera or external card reader? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Unable to see in file explorer and unfortunatley do not have anything else that could read the card.

For the SD Card Issue, download Softwinter's StorageTools here and see if it can see your SD Card and fix any issues (It's a fully functional 30 day trial). If StorageTools can't see the card then it may be time to replace it
If StorageTools resolves the SD Card Issue (What ROM Revision is your 3970 on, 2.00 or 2.10?) then let me know if you still have other problems remaining. _________________ Darren Griffin |

You've nothing to lose by trying a hard reset but be prepared that this may not fix the SD card issue.

Darren
HRS worked - wasn't sure what to expect as not had to do one before - saved me having to fork out for new SD card - although excuse to upgrade to 256 would have been nice - still there's always next time - once again thanks for input.
