This is my TT5 + H5450 experience:
- With TT5.0, just minor problem, worked like magic :D
- With TT5.1, I'm getting memory leak problems approx. every 30 minutes
I have to soft reset every time
I haven't confirmed if its due to the VGA problem described here
I have been wating for an upgrade from TomTom, thinking that the bug-list is now long and serious. But nothing so far, maybe in v.6?
But if so, I'm not a customer anymore. I can revert to 5.0, but that is not how it should work

I have a 5455 (could somebody say what the notable differences are?), and if it's valid I have only one small issue running v5.0
The number of satts. locked onto at startup tends to be lower than in V3, and it's more difficult to lock in built up areas.(However 99.9% of the time it locks in exactly 25 seconds after the program starts up.) Other than that it installed perfectly first time (just had to do the postcode fix). That's also why I haven't "upgraded" to version 5.1 _________________ Tom Tom 1005 v2 World, Garmin Dakota 20, IPhone 4S |

Running a 5455 (I was told that the change of last digit from 0 to 5 merely indicated that the unit was part of a batch sold to buiness's rather than to an individulal by the way) and a globalsat 338. Many issues running on TTN 5 but all resolved with 5.1.
Other changes that may have helped towards smooth running include a shift from SD to CF card. Call me crazy, but CF IS more stable for me.
I've also only insatleed certain items on the CF card, not all of the original initialising program... could be beneficial? _________________ XDA Orbit (the best so far)

Out of interest, what were your issues. I'm running a Sandisc 1.0GB Sd card without any issues. _________________ Tom Tom 1005 v2 World, Garmin Dakota 20, IPhone 4S |

I regulaly lost data or had it corrupted when using SD cards. Eventually, I had to physically lock the card to prevent this - which of course meant that any changes in POI or remembering destinations did not work.
It could be my unit of course, but CF cards are my only option now, unless somepone can help with a diagnosotic test on my IPAQ? _________________ XDA Orbit (the best so far)

Not seen that fault before unless the cards were faulty. |

I had this problem when I first got my PDA and installed TomTom. Before I installed TomTom I downloaded and installed the Rom Update (to 1.11.xx - WM2002), and all other driver updates from the HP Support website.
I had also almost resigned myself to living with a locked card, but noticed the corruption happened once when I connected the power. I then rechecked what was in the ROM update, and noticed it already includes "iPAQ Pocket PC h5400 Battery Driver" - after a Hard Reset and reinstallation of all drivers apart from this one everything was fine.. |

Beermat - you hero!
I had resigned myself to locked SD cards as I already mentioned. However, I have just removed the HP 5400 Battery driver, (at your suggestion) and then took battery out and then in- and guess what? - Device now reads SD cards!
Time will now tell if corruption has been fully alleviated. _________________ XDA Orbit (the best so far)

Excellent :D.. I can't (now) remember if there was a reason I did the hard-reset and full reinstall or if I just wanted to be sure there wasn't any chance of anything being left behind by just uninstalling the driver, but fingers-crossed you're sorted..
(Then again it could just be that as I was used to having to reload the TomTom maps over ActiveSync each time the card became corrupted (aargh!), a hard-reset and reinstall didn't seem too bad an ordeal.. Happy days.. ) |

Oh dear. SD card corrupted again, despite driver removal etc. I lost data at the point car power was applied (not at ignition by the way where you could expect a power spike).
I'm now trying to replicate the fault to confirm that car power is the problem and to see if there is a different order in which I can engage TTN, Bt reciever and power.
Luckily, I have back up on CF thru a Navman sleeve, but its still annoying being unable to trust SD card...
Any others have this issue? _________________ XDA Orbit (the best so far)

D'Oh!
Definitely sounds like a similar problem to mine (when I said it happened once when I connected the power this was also in the car..).
Unfortunately the only thing I can suggest is a hard-reset and reload of everything from scratch (with the exception of this driver obviously).. |
