I have a Navman PIN pocket PC with SMartST. This works fine but only has US maps so I installed Medion navigator with European maps. This was initially working OK but now it is saying "No GPS receiver detected".
I've tried all the combinations of settings (ports etc) that there are. Any ideas. |

I'm seeing this sort of problem in boards about many GPS devices out there. Is this a very common problem? |

Hi.
I'm assuming that almost a year on, you already have a solution for this.
I've never used the Medion navigator, but I have been playing with other GPS software on my Navman PIN 570. I've made a point of disabling the GPS in SmartST. I dont' know if this is entirely necessary, but it's a throwback to the type of things we used to have to do with old PC's before they could share devices.
I've also found with some programmes that if the GPS is active, it will use it, but it doesn't always seem to be able to activate it. If you go into Pocket PC settings and disable then immediately enable the GPS, it will often work. |
