I like to plan my routes before I go out but it’s a pain when tomtom keeps trying to connect to my Bluetooth chip on. How can I stop it keep trying to connect is there a registry fix like with ver 3 ?

That's strange. For me, this was one of the improvements in TT5. TT3 immediately bombed out if it couldn't talk to the Clip-On, so I had to have it handy whenever I wanted to browse the map. TT5 runs without it on my HP iPAQ 4150. It also switches Bluetooth on automatically, something I often forgot to do previously. |

Not sure if this is your issue, i.e. you can't plan a route unless you have a connection to the GPS...?
You can get around this limitation by choosing Advanced Planning, and specifiying a start and end point. It will then calc a route without needing a GPS signal.
Cheers,
Steve. |

Mine is just happy to sit there with "No GPS device!" at the base of the map, doesn't keep searching, and as has already been said, use advance planning, and start from home. |

sounds like you only have the bt gps set up in tomtom, and the pda may need the bt & pda set as a secure conection?
this is a thought, maybe no use at all |

Don't press Cancel. Select the device and it will fail to connect, then go silent.
If you only have one BT device, make it the default then the selection dialog will never appear again, at least that's what happens on my Axim. TT5 does this by default if you tell it to use "Other BT device" rather than "cable device", or whatever (I'm not running TomTom atm and don't want to mess up the BT settings just to get the correct wording). |
