The i3 seems to be very popular, but when looking at the spec at the Garmin website I noticed the i2 - identical to the i3 but doesn't have the colour version of the screen.
Since I don't really care about that (because it'd be the voice prompts that I'd be using) I thought I'd save the money and get the i2.
However I can only find it for sale on a few sites, and these are selling it for more than the i3? What's going on - that's wrong surely?
Can anyone point me in the direction of somewhere selling it at a sensible price? |

I can only vouch for the firm I work for, but we are selling the i3 for a lower price than the i2.
Basically, we suspected that based on the popularity of similar models, the colour screen version would be far more popular then the monochrome version and thus, bought MUCH larger quantities of the i3 than the i2, hence the apparent price "anomoly" |

Garmin US site shows RRP of i2 is about 100 dollars cheaper than the I2.
Maplin site is still showing i2 retail price at £240 vs £199 for the i3, but no stock is available.
It will be interesting to see what retail price for i2 pans out at!
Being honest, I would still have paid £200 for an i2 if the i3 were not availble at the current price. |

Does anybody know whether the i3 price will go up after 8th October (rather than the i2 going down)? |

in early september we were led to believe by maplin that the i3 was on special and would go up to its rrp of £299...since then currys comet and others have also introduced the i3 at £199 so it could go up in price just before xmas or stay at this competative price.... |

PC world, Dixons and Currys are all run by the same people, I think? Not sure about Comet though. |
