Hi all, I am new here so do not know if this has already been asked but here goes:
I purchased the above phone but doesn't seem to want to work hands free with my TomTom 500. Connects but I cannot hear the other person and they cannot hear me. Is this a know fault with this phone and is there a fix?
Many thanks

As it was an upgrade of the K700i I thought it would be compatible. |

I've got a SE K750i and it works fine with my TTG300. When it asked for my phone make, I simply chose the K700.
Works fine! |

Tomtom very kindly sent me an automated responce as my k750i won't pair up to my tomtom500. Basically they say they know about the problem (in as much as it'll do everything apart from voice call..so you can text..yay) and they're working on the problem.. They then said they may not be able to sort it.. Rubbish! |

Hi all,
Yes I am having the same problem. I have a SE W800i with T-mobile in the USA, along with a TomTom Go 700.
They pair without problems.
I can dial a phone number from the TomTom without problems.
I can download the phone book into my TomTom without problems.
HOWEVER...
After establishing a call, I cannot get any audio on the TomTom, nor can they hear me.
With the W800i, once in a call you can hit the "More" option button, and then select "Transfer sound" option to send audio to the TomTom. However, even after doing this I get absolutely no sound. Worse, after selecting "Transfer Sound" the w800i is unable to re-establish a link with the TomTom ... not sure if the problem is with SE or TomTom.
I did find the email address of the TomTom USA President: Jocelyn.Vigreux@tomtom.com
I suggest we all email him and ask for help in resolving this issue, as TomTom support has never gotten back to me!
Here was what Sony-Ericsson has to say. Looks like the W800i support BT2 and maybe that's why we are having compatibility issues:
-----------------------------------------------------
Thank you for contacting Sony Ericsson Online Support.
There is no information in regards with the compatibility between Sony Ericsson
products and third-party products such as the TomTom Go 700. If you would like,
we recommend contacting TomTom to inquire if they are able to provide further
information on the compatibility between the TomTom Go 700 and the W800i.
We have provided the following Bluetooth specifications for the W800i to help
determine if the TomTom Go 700 Bluetooth specifications are similar. The W800i
is manufactured to meet Bluetooth Specification 2.0.
The following are the Bluetooth services supported:
- Dial-up Networking Profile
- Generic Access Profile
- Generic Object Exchange Profile Headset Profile
- Object Push Profile
- Serial Port Profile
- Synchronization Profile
- Basic Imaging Profile
- Handsfree Profile
- Headset Profile
- File Transfer Profile
- Human Interface Device (HID) Profile
If we can be of any assistance in the future please do not hesitate to call one
of our representatives at 1-866-SONY-ERICSSON(1-866-766-9374).
Best regards,
Jim

AND HERE WAS TOMTOM'S REPLY:
Bluetooth coding within each Bluetooth stack is different between devices and manufactures. Because of these differences, not all Bluetooth devices are compatible to connect to any other device using Bluetooth. The engineers in Amsterdam have tested this devices and it is not compatible. There are no specifics as to why. If you want a phone that is compatible, please stick to the compatibility list here: http://www.tomtom.com/products/section.php?ID=77&Section=107&Language=4. These are phones that are compatible and can support if you were to run into any configuration problems. If you have any further questions, please contact us.
Kind Regards,
TomTom USA Customer Service |

This will get some of you going, My Son has just purchased a Sim Free New SE K750i and it works wilth his Go 700. When he told me I called him a liar. I am now eating humble pie his hands free works on voice. I paired my 750 up with his TT and it did not work, now there's frustration for you. Checked all my settings against his cannot see why his does and the rest of the world dose not. Anyone else out there got one working? |

It might be worth comparing the firmware versions you have in your K750i. THere have been several of them released by SE since the phone's launch. The latest is R1N035. You can update your phone at www.sonyericsson.co.uk - check out the Sony Ericsson Update Service.
According to www.esato.com:
Quote: |
To find out which firmware revision your phone currently has installed, perform the following:
>*<<*<*
Where < and > represents pushing the joystick left and right respectively.
|
Several firmware versions have promised Bluetooth improvements and may help with TTGO.
I had a play with a TTG0 700 in Comet today, and it seemed to work with my K750i, except that I couldn't try voice calls due to lack of microphone on the display TTGO...

Updated my K750i to the latest software. Using latest TT 700 software.
No difference to before i.e. while it recognises the phone and will allow you to dial out in does not allow you to speak - same with incoming.
Any advice on settings, if someone has managed to get this to work, gratefully received. |
