I have just got the Nokia 7710 and I took the RS-MMC 512 from my 7610 and put it into the 7710. Tom tom shows up on the menu screen but when you click on it, it dont run. The screen goes blank and then nothing just returns to the menu again, tom tom was working fine in the 7610.
I am unsure if it could be because the 7710 takes MMC and the 7610 was using RS-MMC, thou I dont think this would be a problem a the phone shows you have memory card in and you can see all the tom tom files on the card. |

It is because TT5 is linked to your first phone (via activation). You need to get TT to relink it to your new phone and it does this to stop people copying the software onto another memory stick and giving it to a mate with a similar phone, ie copy protection.
Re-activate is the only way! |

Hello,
Tomtom mobile from a 7610 will not run on a 7710
The 7610 runs series 60 tomtom mobile 5
The 7710 runs series 90 tomtom mobile 5 , they are completely different. |

Whoops Newt, I hadn't considered that! Oli, if you were to break your 7610 and buy another, my advice would stand. |

Oli, as above you buy a different version of TT5, for instance, my version for a symbian UIQ phone wouldn't work with either of your phones. It is still TT5 Mobile though. |

Sorry new to this computer lark. The TT3 runs fine on my PDA both are Bluetooth and I have an adapter to make my computer bluetooth.
What is meant by load to directory? You got the questions cause you seemed to be the brightest star on here.

S60 is short for Symbian 60 and isn't a program you run, it's the name of the operating system which is already installed on your phone.
TT3 is completely incompatible with mobile phones. You will need to purchase a copy of TomTom Mobile 5.

If that's the case then you are probably better off upgrading your TT3 installation to TT5 for your PDA. You will have to purchase the product all over again if you want to use TT5 on your mobile phone.

Your computer having bluetooth is not important

When I got the 6600 the girl said "the simm card has TT5 on it". Which it has. I then bought a bluetooth receiver which works ok on the PDA hp ipaq 2100 with TT3 (which I bought as a package from Totalgps) When I told her that TT5 was not working she said "I will email you the program just unzip it and save it to your registry" . I have a feeling that something aint legal and that I need to dump the simm card and buyTT5 Mobile from a reputable shop is this right? and if I buy TT5 Mobile on a simm card do I just put it into the phone and everything will work ok? I am fed up with throwing money at this I might just sell the phone and cut my losses. |

Hi Vipar,
The application (TomTom Mobile 5) would be supplied on a MMC card, not a SIM card - the SIM card doesn't have any storage that you can access.
Sounds like she's offering to send you a pirated copy The fact that she said it was on the SIMM in the first place indicates she hasn't got a clue what she's talking about!
If you bought TomTom Mobile 5 (I added a link previously) you would simply have to insert the MMC card in to your 6600, complete a short registration and you're ready to start using it.
