|
|
Hi everyone, this is my first post.
Some advice would be much appreciated : I am awaiting delivery of a Mitac Mio 168 and have TT5 ready and waiting.
I was planning to upgrade to a bigger SD card (1GB?) so that I could fire all the european maps on here as well.
Questions....will a 1GB card be big enough to accomodate the TT5 and the euro maps ?
and.......
Does it matter which make of SD card I go for ? I have a cheapo one from expansys.co.uk in my digi camera which works fine. Will this be OK in the Mio or would I be better investing in a Sandisk or similar....will a cheap card slow the whole thing down whilst in operation ?
Many thanks,
Neil |

Think it might be worthwhile reading around more on this here on this forum and others. My understanding is there is a limit - whilst the Mio can take a 2gb card, it can only make use of 1gb of it
Re. quality and make of card - in my view always best to go for the best. |

I tried my 2GB SD card (Peak 2GB Extreme 120x) HERE from my digi camera in my Mio168 with problems at all, (just for fun) I even loaded on to it TT3.07, TT5.1, Navigon 4.2 & 5.1 and all worked fine, also on the card I put Top Gun the movie and that played fine as well, with a couple of other things on it including CheckPOInt and POI-Warner plus sound files, poi's etc the card showed 1743MB used.
It's now back in the camera, but I use 1 GB Lexar cards in both the Mio168 and Medion 95000 which work fine as well. |
