Magellin SPORTRAK COLOR north america for boating?

I never owned a gps before so I apologize for my stupid questions.

Would the Sportrak Color be a good inexpensive choice for boating in lakes and in coastal regions of oceans?

Would I be able to add additional maps or software to it / does it have enough memory to do so?

What would be some major differences between the Sportrak Color, Sporttrak Pro and Meridian Marine (all by Magellian) and which would you pick? Does Garmin or another company make a simular GPS unit, for boating, that is the same price of the above listed units?

Last question please...With the above units, would I be able to see some roads that might be around the lakes that I will boat in? I would like to add the boat ramps locations into the gps's memory.
