|
|
Hi guys, before I start I have read the tutorials.
I have TomTom3 on my AcerN35 PDA and have just installed the Safety Camera database, all seems fine and I see all the various types of speed cameras appear on the map.
I need it now to warn me of POI not just show them on the map.
Just found an article saying make sure POI is installed and activated, where do you I get this from ? is there another way of doing the same thing without buying MORE software ? |

Hi ma77smith,
to the forum!
It's been a while since I used TomTom Navigator 3 for the PocketPC. If you're going to use CheckPOInt then try and get a copy of CheckPOInt 2.0.2, which is better than CheckPOInt 3.xx if you are using the PocketGPSWorld camera database.
An alternative to CheckPOInt is GPSAssist 2.1.1.14, which is what I used with TomTom Navigator 3. The trial version of GPSAssist can be started 40 times and is fully functional. After 40 executions you need to purchase GPSAssist, for €27.00 EUR.
One word of warning about GPSAssist, people have complained on the GPSAssist forum of registering (buying) their trail copy and not receiving an activation code. This may be due to firewall or email Spam filtering settings, so be careful.
The GPSAssist website is:
http://www.gpsassist.net

Hi Ma77Smith
I use TT3 with checkpoint 3.2.0.0 with no problems at all. I don't use the auto POI update feature of checkpoint (which I think is the sticking point that Privateer was eluding to), I just copy the poi files manually from the pc to the sd card.
So Checkpoint is free and it does what is says on the tin.
