What is a good hand held GPS for boating?

Looking for something that can hold many ocean and lake maps.

I have spoke to one of my colleague who uses sat nav on boats more than i have and his advise is

he recommends you look at GPSMAP376c / GPSMAP276C and alos:

The megallan exsplorist 300 would be more than adequate for lake and costal use but you can’t get marine software to load on to these.

But the best all round solution would be a DELL PDA and big batt running some memory map soft ware, as this would also give you the features of a PDA. If you dont require these features then a Garmin might be better suited.

Those are nice, but too expensive for my budget.

What do you think about the Magellin Marine Pro Color America?
