Hi all,
i purchased an i3 from Maplin, upgrading from a Palm Tungsten with Kirrio.
My father-in-law was so impressed he rushed out to Comet and bought 2 of his own.
On one of these the roller button got stuck and Comet have refused to replace the i3, and have made him return it to garmin for repair.
Comet have no understanding of customer support, avoid them at all costs.

Well I phoned their Customer Services Department and quoted all these things and they refused to budge.
They are in breach of contract afaik, but they refuse to recognise this.

ShugMonkey where are you from? If your near me i could go in to the shop and i guarantee they will change it for you...they hate people shouting in the store.

Thanks for the replies.
My father in law has decided to send it back to Garmin, against my recommendation.
I have written a stinking letter to Comet asking them to expalin their actions and quoting the Comsumer Act of 1999.
I have asked for compensation due to inconvenience and travel expenses.
I will let you know how we get on.
The store is Comet Harlow................. |

I had one from Currys that was doing exactly the same, took mine back to Curry's and they changed it for a new one straight away with no problems atall, must admit i have had problems with Comet before and it's a company i would never considering shopping at now, Comet in my opinion always seem to have very poor customer services.
To be honest i would have created a scene in the store, but thats just me, i love a good argument! _________________ Garmin Streetpilot i3,
