What sort of things??
There are POI everywhere. If they're not in the right format there are converters that can change most of them to .csv files suitable for you. _________________ Richard

Hi all,
Also look here:-
www.poidownload.co.uk
These already in Navman format. Those which have file extension asc can simply be changed to csv. You may have to find your own BMP picture files or just let Navman give you a default one.
This site makes no guarantees about the accuracy or completeness of the data.

The Navman POIEditor can also import .asc files, so there's no need to change the extension. _________________ Tim |

Thats a really good link....
Silly question though.... If I download the Pizza Hut one for instance it has (247) in brackets does that mean it includes that many Pizza Huts??
Would the Total one have all or nearly all of them in the uk??
Also... if it just as easy as copying them to the 520 and then turning them on so they are visable then when you drive around you can see them on the map and also set warnings for them etc??
Sorry bout the silly questions but I am new to all this SatNav stuff

Also I know the unit can only have 25 POIs... however does this mean thats as many as you can put on the unit or could I have say 50 on there and only tick to show 25??
Cheers

The POI's within the files are those which someone has taken the trouble to map, it may not be fully complete but is very comprehensive and you can always add to to any which are missing. I do not think you will find many missing ones though.
As for loading them onto your 520, you will need to use the POI editor within the desktop software and then download to the device. There is some formatting which needs to be done first, but is staightforward and is documented under the speed camera POI downloads as the same process:
http://www.pocketgpspoi.com/downloads/pocketgps_uk_sc_oct05.zip
In order for you to better understand how the settings work for POI's check out this thread:

Sadly the maximum numbe of POI's which can be loaded is limited to 25, irrespective of whether they are 'Active' or not. However, there is nothing to stop you having a spare SD card loaded with duplicate maps and different POI's and switch between the two dependant on your requirements. |

Thanks for both replies mate... really helpful
- Am i right in thinking the speed cameras themselves take 18?? Leaving me 7 user ones that are still available to add??
OR do speed camera ones only take 18 if you load them as 30mph/40mph/50mph etc...?? and if you say load as type (gatso/mobile/etc...) take less say 4/5 ??
Hope the above doesnt sound confussing just trying to get my head around the options of having the speed cameras on there!
ALSO do the cameras come with Navman Sounds... IE The navman lady saying "Speed Camera 30seconds OR Speed Camera 300meters" OR do you just have a Siren for them??
Thanks

Yes, if you load the single Camera POI file, that only counts as one. If you use the separate files for each speed, each file counts as one. I made the Total POI back in April, based on information supplied by Total. I'm sure that there will have been some changes since then. _________________ Tim |

Hello Tim,
Thanks for the info.... a Single file would be good - and I guess that just shows the speed camera image thats built into the uni and just makes a warning sound WITHOUT telling you the speed?? Thats fine if it does as you normally know the speed of the road anyways!
I have look here: http://pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras.php
- And I cant seem to find one for the iCN 520 and/or the SmartST 2005... any ideas where I can find that file (All in one) and info on how to add it to the unit?
Thanks in advance.
