|
|
I've downloaded the new Variable Gatsos to my TT Palm v.5 along with all the other files this month and they are shown as Enabled in the "Enable/Disable POI" list.
However when I click on "Warn when near POI" they don't show up in the list (all the others do).
Any ideas on what's wrong? |

There can be 3 setups for speed cameras.
The first is a single file that contains all the cameras together, without any reference to what type. This is named pocketgps_uk_sc.csv and found in the 'single file version/csv file/other' folder.
Second is the 5 file version that divides the cameras into types. Gatso, Mobile, Specs, Redlight and Temporary. These you will find in the 'csv files/other' folder.
Third is the full 18 file version that divides the Gatso and Mobile files into speed zones. There are 7 each of the Gatso and Mobile files. These are found in the 'speed zoned/gatso/csv' and speed zoned/mobile/csv' folders. Add to these the Specs, Redlight and Temporary files as above.
I have not included the Continental file because you will only need this if going to the continent.. But should you want it , it's in the 'csv files/other' folder.
The .bmp files are in 'ov2 bmp files' Folder or for alternatives the 'alternative bmp files' Folder.
You only need 2 files, a .csv and a .bmp for each group.
Remember to Delete (or REM out) the Header Lines in the .csv files with Notepad.
When you've decided which set you want, use SmartST Desktop to import each .csv file and associate with it the correct .bmp file. These are the only files you need.
In case you haven't read them the instructions are here - http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras-navman.php |
followed all the steps only problem is it says there isnt enough space on my device, why is this? is there nething i can do? i havent put nething on it b4 so i cant understand why it wont go in |

Take the SD card out and on the opposite side to the 45 degree corner on the card there is a little slider switch it will be marked with an arrow and the word Lock, if its in the lock position then just move it. Mike |

Thanks to everyone who helped me last week to set my POI's out especially the camera locations.
There are some regularly used mobile camera sites near me which don't appear on your list. How do I
1. Install them on my ipaq?
and
2. Inform you so that they can be added? |

Presuming that you're using TTN, create a POI category called "Newcams" and add their locations to it.
If you are using TTN5 this thread will give some help.
Ignore the reference to Quickam as this only applies to the TTG. _________________ Richard

Thanks for the answer. That's what I have been trying to do so tried it again. Here's what happens. I am running TTN 5.
Initially I went through as far as "Add POI Category" (I named it New Cameras) and added the "Hazard" icon. It then told me that it's saved.
BUT, I couldn't find the category when I did the following instruction snipped from the thread you sent me to:
"When you're stopped, you can then go to "preferences", "manage POI", "add POI", "from favourite", giving it a name in the format GATSO@40 etc.
I Haven't got "from favourite" after the "add POI".
Thnking I'd done it wrong, I tried adding the same category again but it told me it already exists but where is it? |

You might be getting caught up with the "27 POI categories limit" problem that appeared in V5.201 software (it was 40).
Assuming you haven't got more than 27...
You say you have made a "New Cameras" POI:-
Go to "Manage Preferences"
Tap arrow to go to page 2
Tap "Manage POI"
Tap "Add POI"
Select the "New Cameras" category
You should then get a page (and another one after that) with all the usual selections such as Home, Favourite, Address, Recent destination, Postcode, Point on map, etc.
Any of these should be able to be selected, (unless any are greyed out, for example if you have not stored any favourites yet!).
Is this where you get stuck? |

Hi Andy and thanks for the response.
I've just deleted some categories and, yes, New Cameras has now appeared.
Why, oh why did they make life so difficult by reducing the number of categories?
Thank You |

They say it was an accident, and they say it will go back to 40 in the next software release. (Soon now?) |

I have downloaded the latest camera databases.
Can I use the wav files in some way to alert when I am approching the cameras.
Where should I put them in the file directory.
Cheers |

azreal, have you been to the Go Forum?
It's one of the top topics....
Try this
(You don't use the .wavs, the audio is held in the data.chk file which can be replaced to give you spoken warnings). |
