|
|
Hi Guys,
I have a Mitac Mio running TT5 and have tried to install some POI's from this site but having problems. I have copied the 02v and bmp files directly onto my sd card into the map folder, which I know is right. However when I run TT5 and go into manage POI's and go to select the POI's I have installed they do not appear to be there. I have read that TT5 only supports 40 extra groups of POI's on top of the pre-installed ones but I have only tried to install 1 extra group so far and its not there. If I go into my card however the files are clearly there.
As a newbie to all this it could just be me but any help on this would be greatfully received.
Regards
Darren. |

Both the .ov2 and its corresponding .bpm must be copied to the map folder on the SD card, they must be as files not loaded into a folder. Then start TT5 go to Change prefferences, Managge POI, Enable / Disable POI, then select the check box next to the POI you need to see, then finally go back and set the Warn when near POI to get the alert, hope that helps - Mike |

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the quick response. What you have described is exactly what I have tried however they do not appear in the list of POI'S in Manage POI, Enable / Disable POI. I have copied the files into my sd card as single files not in a folder as you said. When I browse the card they are there but not in the list in tomtom.
Anybody???? |

OK lets try the real basic one have you selected Hide POI by accident, on the first screen of prefferences middle rh should be "hide POI" with a big Red X accross it , If it says Show POI without the Red X that is what is wrong, just select it and they should come back - Mike |

Again thanks for the suggestion but this too is fine!
I have however noticed that I have more than 40 catagories of POI's in the list and I know you can only download a further 40 on top of what Tomtom comes with as std. however I do not know how many of what I have are what came with the software as I already had things like speed cameras on the software. How many POI's can TT5 handle in total?? Could this be the problem?? Sorry if I am sounding stupid but I think I have a lot to learn. |

On my set-up I have 22 POI's selected (mostly speed cams) out of a total number of 62 that are avail, how many have you got selected if it is at the limit try de-selecting some, if you want to run at the limit with loads of different POI's visable, then use the single file versin of the camera d-base, I preffer the individual warnings but each to there own on this one, also have you scroled all the way through the avail POI's as the camera file you have loaded could be at the end of the list - Mike |
