|
|
(I realize this is a pretty basic question, I did search for some time but couldn't find an answer.)
I would like to add POI's to the existing POI categories. For example the gas stations in my country are OK in the TTN5 POI categories, however some stations are missing. I don't want to start another POI category for those stations that I have added personally, since then I would have to make two separate queries whenever I want to find a gas station.
It's clear that editing the existing (built-in) POI categories is impossible withing the TTN5 software, but is there a 3rd party utility or something that makes it possible? I would be ready to for example rip (extract) the POI's from the built-in gas station category and use it as a basis for a new category of my own. In that case I would have all the stations in one category, and I'd be able to add new stations whenever.
Or whatever else solution works, I'm not afraid of "hacking" a little bit, although I do draw a line at a binary editor . If there is a thread or a how-to on this subject, please show me the link. |

We know how to do what you are asking for, but since we have all read the fine print in the TomTom license contract the official answer has to be: Sorry, cannot be done.
One interesting question - what happens if you use a custom OV2 file that has the same name as a built in category? Which one takes precedence? _________________ Lutz

Ok, thank you for pointing out the license violation. Me must no do it.
On a totally different note: How would it be done, were it not forbidden in the license contract? Just theoretically speaking....? |
