Hi

I am not sure if I have a problem or whether its normal

I have recently purchased an HP Ipaq HX4700 which I am really pleased with and I am running Tom Tom Navigator 5 Bluetooth.

What I find is that despite having a full signal strength, the display seems to be a little bit behind to where I actually am on the road. At the moment I am still driving around roads which I know, but later in the week I am driving up to Wolverhampton so I want to make sure I dont miss any turnings?

Do I have a problem or is this normal?

Also I have one roundabout near me and it tells me to go around the wrong way.... oops!

Thanks in advanced :-)

it's not a Bluetooth issue. TomTom just got slower with 5.1 - which is a shame since previous versions were very precise in displaying the current position.

Thanks for such a speedy response Smile

Guess progress isn't always so good Sad

At least I don't have a problem as such

Hopefully they will sort out this little problem 8O

Do you still have problems if you disable the display of (external) POIs? I have found a big slowdown if you have lots of POIs set to be visible. With just the default supplied POIs plus speed cameras, I find that on a motorway I'm getting 3-4 updates per second, and the point of the arrow represents where I am precisely on my Toshiba E800.

Cheers,

Steve.

I haven't noticed that 5.0 slower for me (using a 2215) - seems the same. I'm using the TT GPS that came with TT4 USA. Or is 5.1 noticably slower than 5.0? Since I started with TT4, TT5 seems like a nice upgrade, though I am still a bit disappointed with the number and quality of the POIs, and there are still significant roads missing from the maps. It does a better job in the countryside than TT4, however, though still tends to send us down some dodgy roads.

I think I just have the standard that TomTom sets up, plus of course the Camera warnings, but I will check and see Smile

Thanks

TT5 runs okay on my Ipaq 2210 and BT338, not slow at all and never lags. The programme certainly likes some equipment better than others.

Do you mean 5.1 is slower than 5.0? Is this a general problem with all PDAs or just your experience? I've got an XDAiis with 5.0 and have held off upgrading. I'd rather have the keyboard problem than a GPS signal I cant rely on.

Well I have set my alerts to just petrol stations (visual not audio) and safety cameras and it hasn't made any difference Sad

I would think that the original TT5 SD card would be sufficently quick wouldn't you Question
