TomTom 5, installing extra maps problem

I have the TomTom 5 upgrade from 3.x which I have been using for a while. The upgrade came with 6 extra CDs which say they have maps for Europe on. I want to install any/all extra maps. However I cannot work out how to do this, I see no option from the main installer and putting any of the CDs in results in a failing autorun (not enough space in temp folder - even after a restart) and I can't see what to copy and paste or any identification of what maps are where (the CDs directory structure looks a bit odd to me too with sub dirs for Palm and stuff). To be honest, the map CDs look like they might have the wrong data burned onto them.

Anyone help?
