Hi hope this is in the correct section, Im gettin a problem with tom tom version 5 as in if i turn it on this is the problem that comes up on the screen
im running the GPS baud rate at 9600 and then select Nav Man GPS as my unit is a navman, then i wait for the system to locate the sats, it can find up to five or six at a time with a good signal but it never connects to any of them, iv'e tried driving round but nothing, we came down the M1 the other day and it did lock on for about two mins then lost connection because we went under the motorway bridge, So my question is...do i need to re-install tom tom 5? or do i have to change some settings. Ps sorry about the size of the photo, not got the hang of reducing things yet. |

that's a remainder of the old TTN3 installation - you can remove it with check_notifications (find it on Google).
If you have a bluetooth GPS select 38400, for a Navman jacket you will need to use 57600 _________________ Lutz

This notification error occurs if you do not switch off tomtom 5 correctly. Go to menu each time to "EXIT APPLICATION". The next time you switch on you will be ok.

when you haven't use the receiver in a while, when you have traveled by plane , or when the backup battery is dying then the base tables are not holding any more, and need to be reloaded.
This can take anything from 12 minutes to eternity, and is especially difficult when you are already driving. If possible, stay stationary with good sky view until the first fix. _________________ Lutz

I think this is a repeat post, but my suggestion is still the same:
Have you checked that the infrared is turned off on the iPaq?
I know that the navman sleeve needs the iPaq infrared turned off as it interfers with the receiver. Sudden changes in brightness cause the receiver to loose satellites. :D _________________ Steveee
