I thought I had a TTG 300 as I purchased mine in October last year from GPS uk. However I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade the TTG classic so that I can search by Post Code. I don't really want to sell it and then buy a another one just to do the Post code search. Does any one know GPS Global Positioning Systems do trade ins if I have to go down this route? Thanks. |

hi
the only way to get the postcode search facility is to purchase a map upgrade (GB or MOWE) as the great_britian.postal file you need is on the update sd card/cd rom
the only other way is to get a copy of this file from someone else but this is against the copyright laws

You need to install the Free v5 update from TomTom and then purchase the V5 Map Update which added PostCode functionality.
With that done you'll have all the functions of a GO 300 AND ASN which the 300 does not have. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi Guys
I have a TTG classic with the update, and the new maps on SD, but alas no postcode search. It does exactly what it did before any changes.
It will search the 1st 4 characters but no more. It is a real downer as it is the main reason that I bought the updated maps.
Any ideas would be gratefully recieved |

On your SD Card check that you have the zip folder containing the GreatBritain_Postal codes.
If you do then check that you have a 'TomTom' folder on the card. If not create an empty folder called 'TomTom' (no quotes) and this should resolve it. _________________ Darren Griffin |

:D Thanks Darren
Works perfectly now. I had put a folder in after reading an earlier posting but had named it tom tom rather than tomtom
Thanks again

Excellent, an annnoying 'bug' but at least one that is easily resolved! _________________ Darren Griffin |
