GO500 Maps & TT Navigator 5

Do TomTom GO & Navigator use the same maps?

I have a GO500 with standard maps as supplied - UK and major roads of Europe but also TT Navigator 5 on a PDA with full set of Europe maps supplied on CD.

Can I load the France map on to the GO500 ( SD card space permitting) and expect it to work ?

yes, maps are platform independent. All you need to be aware of is that each device will eat up one activation code. You have two activations per map set in the first six months (at least 7 days apart), and then one every six months.

My understanding is that the maps are compatible - but that TT will only permit you to activate each set of maps on a single device.

[Bit like Bill Gates making you buy a fresh copy of Windows XP for each PC you own].

Hmmmm all previous advice seemed to suggest to me that the maps were NOT compatable.
