|
|
I know I will probably appear fairly dense to all you experienced users but I cannot get v5 to work with my iPAQ2210 and a Fortuna Clipon.
It works perfectly well with V3 and I have reverted to that after trying all the tips etc on the forum and some fairly crass support from Tomtom.
I did get it working once but when I tried to add some extra maps on another CF card it stopped with a data error and and I couldn't get it to recognise the gps unit again.
Can someone give a blow by blow set of instructions on how to get v5 loaded and recognising the gps unit and any other tips and tricks for loading maps.
Alternatively is there any way of using v5 maps with v3.
Can we also volunteer a user panel to Tomtom to test the software in future so that they stop releasing alpha software as fully tested.
Regards and thanks in advance

it is documented that tomtotm 5 isnt compatable with cf receivers but will work have you unchecked receive all incoming beams unfoirtunatly ive lost my cf receiver but it did work with v4 hp nav pack on my 2210 and hp jornada
im going off a guess here but give it a try got other wired nema gps set the baud rate 4800 then you will be prompted to select a com port there should be a cf gps or somthing similar in the com port list and it should work
my 2210 play up recently and wouldnt regognise a cf card it turned out that it was stuffed and had to be repaired
incert a cf storage card if you have one and see if it shows up in file explorer _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

Initially it was then I got it to work with one CF card with GB maps but when I tried to load other maps on another CF card not only did that end with a data error but I could no longer link with the clipon again with either card.
Its seems to be one step forward two steps back. |

I hope that I don't have the same problem as buffer when I receive my TTN 5 upgrade as my SatNav receiver is also a Fortuna Clip-on (excellent piece of hardware, by the way).
Not having received the TTN 5 upgrade, I cannot offer a solution. However, one thing I can clarify is that the Fortuna Clip-on is not a CF receiver; it is bluetooth. Also, its baud rate is 38400, if that helps in any way. |
