Hi all
A beginners question here i know but
I purchased Tom TOm 5 for pocket PC and therefore my software is supplied on a SD card...
I am looking to backup this s/w for safety sake.
I have copied the 10 folders and the application into a folder on my laptop..Is this all there is ? Just asking in case there are any hidden files that i should be aware of ?

Definitely. Before you copy, make sure your Windows File Explorer does not hide system files , Otherwise you may not copy the whole card contents. _________________ Lutz

when i enable the view i cannot see any more additional files.
That doesn't mean there isn't any..Just want to double check with the people in this forum ( who would know more than me ) that i have done the correct thing.
If you cannot / will not help me then please say so

You have unhidden system folders. Good. That means you see the entire SD card, and you will be able to back it up entirely. There are no more hidden folders when you unhide system folders. Can you accept that? _________________ Lutz

Darren,
A little late in the day I know, I think you are very brave in trying to backup all the files you'll need.
Another approach would be to use a backup software program like "Sprite" as I don't know what pda you have I'll assume this or something similar would run ok - typically this program does a complete backup so you don't have to worry about individual folders or files.
If other parts of your pda got corrupted just loading a folder or file would not cure the problem or get you going on your journey maybe.....
There is a lot of expert help here as these guys do know what they are talking about, just better to say "I need that explained to me", then I'm sure a dirrerent response will appear.....
Hope this helps

yes as a beginner in the PDA / SAT NAV department i need some help and guidance in these matters.
I have a IPAQ 5550 and TOM TOM 5...
I am not aware of any backup programs for my IPAQ that would backup the entire contents of my SD card..
Simply my initial question was are there any hidden files that i need to be aware of..I have 10 folders and one application.
Yes i require help..
