Hi,
I was using TomTom 5 and BT77 (Nemerix chipse) GPS receiver in London, and the reception is really poor, does anyone else experience it?
If you have good signal in central London can you reply what GPS you using?
Many thanks. |

i use some self adhesive velcro to stick my receiver to the dashboard then when not in use you can shove it in the glove box |

i have the same GPS as you and a Nokia 6680 running TT5m and im in the holborn area. in a car reception is ok. its got me out of town ok but sometimes it takes a while to get a fix (4-10 mins) even though its seeing 3-4 sats. this is in a Ford focus with the reciever on the dash. ive tried it walking and get no fix at all even when it can see 4-5 sats. this is in the same area so i guess maybe (just maybe) the metal of the car helps and also being on the road you are away from the buildings a bit.

Ha ha. yes. i agree. boys and their toys eh?
I do it just to prove to myself its a workable system for when i need to rely on it but also if i have to go somewhere for the first time its handy to have a list of cashpoints, tube stations etc in the area.
I have seen people with the reciever in a band on a hat walking through the city, now that is strange.

using a belt clip doesn't show so much,
but the external antenna glued to my head gives the game away |
