|
|
Hi,
I have recently bought the tomtom HP 2110 navigator system.
I have followed the instructions on how to connect to services ( weather, traffic ) but i am having no luck connecting.
I have gprs activated phone and i have paired all bluetooth devices up yet i cant get anything when i am on the move.
i have signed up for 30 day free trial of tt plus and it is activated as i checked by plugging ipaq into my pc whilst connected to the internet.
But when i am mobile, it does not connect to the server.
WHAT AM I MISSING !!! i am sure it is something simple.
PLEASE HELP ME !!
THANKS

You might want to check that your cell phone has GRPS service while you're on the move. Does Navigator attempt a GPRS connection? What are the time intervals you have updates set to? |

Can you retrieve email from Messenger while you're on the move? It sounds like some kind of connection issue that's not specific to TomTom Navigator. I'd try and get that resolved first. Since I'm not familiar with your IPAQ device, I can't really help you out with that. There should be plenty of forums where you can get help with connection issues though. Once you've got that resolved, you shouldn't have any problems with TT Navigator. Good luck! |

Can you connect to the Internet via Active Sync? If you can try the TomTom services via Active Sync also. If they work then it looks like a pairing issue with your phone/IPAQ or check again with your mobile operator that GPRS is properly set up on your account.
Which operator are you with?
I had trouble with my GPRS account until I contacted O2 directly and it all got sorted. |

You need to get the connection string from your phone carrier. Put that connection string into your Bluetooth manager settings. Again, I'm not familiar with your PPC device or your carrier so I can't help any more. But you should contact Vodafone and ask what connection string you should use. |

The area you need on your PDA is probably around "Start", "Settings", "Connections", "New",
Enter a Name such as "Mobile Connection"
Select a Modem "Bluetooth Dial-up Modem"
Select Baud Rate of "57600"
Select "Advanced"
Here you need the Vodafone information. The number to dial will be something like "*99#" The extra dial-string modem commands will be something like "+CGDCONT=1,"IP","VODAFONE.CO.UK"
I don't know if Vodafone uses Server assigned IP ADDRESS or not.....BTMobile does, but O2 when I used them did not.
You may be able to find more help by searching the site, I have seen this question raised before.
Hope this helps,
Steve |
