Having trouble finding out if, or how this could be done?. What I want to do is use the laptop to connect the the internet, and e-mail by using the phone, (or phone part or the Jornada as a modem. Anyone know how to do this? or where I might find some help if it's possible? |

There's no built in facility in Pocket PC 2002 Phone Edition to do this, though manufacturers can add such functionality themselves. I gather that recently a new ROM has become available for the XDA that allows you to use the XDA to provide Internet connectivity for an external device, but I'm not sure the 928 has any similar functionality. Obviously you can't use an XDA ROM on a 928.
This was about the biggest issue that put me off buying a Pocket PC phone.

Thanks for the quick reply, as I couldn't find any mention in the manual or searching the net, I guessed it couldn't be done. Does seem a little daft as it would be a useful feature.
Another related question that you may be able to help me with. What would be the best way to get on the move internet connectivity with a laptop? or are there laptops that have a GPRS solution built in?. Basically I'll be away from a landline connection a lot with my work, so would need a reliable way to connect, (I'm UK based if that makes any difference) |

Your best bet is to look for a GSM/GPRS PC Card. The Nokia D211 is best avoided, as it's only a multi-slot class 6 device (3 downstream and 1 upstream timeslots). There are several good cards on the market, from companies such as Sierra. Vodafone have rebadged one of the cards (can't remember which) as part of their Mobile Connect package - I think you can also get a PC Card from Orange.
The other alternative is to get Bluetooth on your laptop (you can get it built in to some laptops - otherwise you can use a USB Bluetooth device) and use that with a GSM/GPRS phone that has Bluetooth.
