I have recently aquired TT5 and it works fine on my Ipaq 2210.

Having read all the posts I was aware that there had been issues getting Fugawi to work with the TT BT but thought that I would be ok.

Unfortunately not. I get the same standard issues that I have seen posted previously. Namely the problems with "communication error 55" and I have been unable to get rid of them.

I would be very gratefull for any helpfull advice anyone can provide.

Care to clarify the 'aquired' bit?

If TomTom5 is installed over an earlier version, occasionally some remnants remain. If you are able to, confirm any earlier components have been removed. Alternatively, a hard reset and install of v5 will work.

Sorry. Aquired as in bought.

This is the first version of TT I have had and there was nothing installed there previously.

From reading the various posts it seems that TT grabs and holds onto the COM port 8 not letting any other GPS program such as Fugawi use it to connect to the BT GPS receiver.

I'm sure there must be a relatively simple way round it but I've had no luck so far though I have had to reinstal TT once after trying to remove part of TT that definately didn't work.

The COM Port Issue affected earlier versions, v5 is not affected.

Are you sure nothing else is hogging the COM Port? Try a soft reset before launching Fugawi?

To be honest that's what I thought was the case.

However still not happening at the moment.

I will have a bit more of a play and see what happens.

In the meantime if anyone can suggest anything obvious that I might have overlooked that would be great.

I have now got it working by starting bluetooth first and establishing a connection with the TT BT GPS receiver then starting Fugawi and connecting.

Seems a long way round to do it but perhaps that is what I should have been doing in the first place.

Whilst by no means the only way, it is certainly less problematic to have an established connection to the receiver before launching the application.
