Hi fellas,i seem to be having a really odd problem with the cleese voice download.
all works ok until i exit application and turn the pc off(ipaq1710).then when i use ttn5 again i have to reselct the voice. as it says no usable voice selected.it only does it with this particular voice, the standard ones are ok.it reallyis a pain in the arse and tomtom support aren't the slightly bit interested.
what do i do.

Both my husband and I have the same problem.
I have the upgrade and he has the full new TT5 and the same happens to both of us.
Please help us if you can.
Best regards

did you download the voice direct from TomTom? If so you may find it has stored it in a folder on the PDA called "Voices" where as the others perhaps are on the SD card, also in a folder called "Voices"

If this is the case copy the downloaded voice to the SD card folder.

I have just found the solution.

Find the files on your PDA
DATA100.CHK
DATA100.VIF
DATA100.BMP

Rename the number part of the file name to any two digit number using the same number for each file. Choose one that is not in the same directory.

Obviously TT5 can't cope with three digit numbers.

Well done in finding the solution, but a three digit number works fine on my XDAIIi. Unfortunately TomTom does not....

I have changed the .CHK and .BMP files but I don't seem to have a .VIF one.
Does this matter?
I look forward to hearing from someone.

I think the .VIF file has somthing to do with idetifying the .BMP file and will only have an effect on the way it is displayed in the change voice screen. The important one is the .CHK file, that has all the anouncments in it.
