Hi all,
I have a Bluemedia BM 6300 with Destinator ND on it. I have everything working as I want it but as most people I would like to update the POI files.
The files are in .dat format and I am not sure if it possible to use the downloads from this site to update them, any help advise most appreciated.
Also is there any way to add new voices / MP3 player to this device.
Thanks

Hi
The DAT files for the Bluemedia BM6300 are on the device stored in the favourites folder
\MNAV\NAVIGATOR\COMMON\FAVORITES
The DAT files appear to have a header then Logditude and Latitude values in each file, but as yet I have not been able to format them using the programs I have.
Thanks for any help / advise.

Hi Yasa
You can update the speed camera locations from this site or for a period of 6 months, after registration, for free from www.lowestonweb/destinator
I do not know their source!!!!!!!
If you want to use the files on this site you need the following.
When you open your Destinator Console on your PC do you have a "Favorites Importer" icon?
If not you need to edit the default.ini file downloaded from the Destinator CD. The file can be found in the Destinator Apps folder then Installer folder. Near the top of the file contents is a line "POIImport=0", this needs to be changed to "POIImport=1".
The icon above will then be displayed on the Cosole and you will be able to use the console to convert the .csv files to .dat and then import them.
You will need to import each camera type individually.
Note the name of the .csv file will be imported and replace that in your BM 6300.
If you want the file name to be as the favorites menu in BM 6300 you will need to edit the name of the .csv before any favorites import commences. Make sure you select the relevant map on the console.
Also make sure you back up your BM 6300 before commencing any of the above.
Do you know you can convert the BM 6300 to a WIN CE PDA and still run your Destinator software? It is not just a dedicated Sat Nav.

Yasa
Forgot to say when converted to Win CE there is an MP3 player on the unit and you can add video player, photo viewer and more.
A good buy!!! |
