Hi mbfos,
to the forum!
Were the CDs in a sealed box?
The product code is on a loose piece of card the same size as a credit card.
If you weren’t given a product code then the CDs are effectively worthless. Where did you get them?

Hi
Thanks for the fast reply
I ordered them direct from TomTom, they were deliverd by UPS in a jiffy bag, It was not sealed in cellophane and definitely no credit card sized product code. All that was in the bag was the Cds in a large plastic box and an A4 sized delivery note
I have shipping and order numbers, but who do i contact at TomTom? I tried submitting a question via their website, but I've had no confirmation it was received and it does not show up in my TomTom profile.

Hi Jeff,
I suggest that you log onto the TomTom website Support page and log a call. State that the CDs were not sealed in their box and that you have no product code. State that you will give them a period of time to deal with it (and the period that you will give them) else you will take further action.
If you ordered via a credit card, and if after the period you gave TomTom to deal with the problem you have had no joy, then you should lodge a complaint/dispute against TomTom with your credit card company.

I've logged a question on the TomTom support site, so I'll see what happens. I've demanded a response within 5 days.
Very annoying though, I'm concerned that even though I bought it from TomTom direct, it was not sealed on arrival meaning somebody has probably halfinched the code in the warehouse and posted it on ebay or some dodgy site
Thanks for all your help

I think that you may need to contact UPS, not TomTom, and say that you think that the goods have been tampered with before you received them.
I just can't think that TomTom would ship goods like that. |

Well this is unbeleiveable
TomTom have deleted my question from my profile on thir website without notifying me.
I will raise it AGAIN, but any help anyone could give will be greatly appreciated
Further to your idea about conacting UPS, the envelope was still sealed so I think it's unlikley it was them. |

Have you checked for the product code under the CDs? |

Quoting from their most helpful website:
"This productcode can be found on one of these places:
in your CD box, behind CD 2"
So there you are - behind CD2 you must look! |

I have checked behind CDs 1,2,3,4,5 and 6
I have checked behind the paper inlay of the Cd box
I have checked the original envelope in which it arrived
I have checked everywhere
At least they have now acknowledged that i have rasied a support query. I wait with baited breath. |

How good a response is this. Do they think I'm an idiot:
Dear Mr Flynn,
Thank you for your question. Your maps will not contain an Activation code instead it should contain a Product Code, your Product code + your device code will give you your activation code. Please go www.ttcode.com in order to activate your Maps of Western Europe.
With best regards,
The TomTom Customer Support Team |
