I have just purchased a Navman 570 which comes with SmartST 2005.
I really DO NOT like the navigation software, it was a rush purchase at 7:45pm for use at 6am the following morning.
I have been using TT5 on a now broken Ipaq which i found good, you either love it or hate it, but it always worked fine for me.
I decided to try my version of TT5 on a 512mb SD Card on my new Navman 570, TT5 loaded fine but i cant get it to work with the integrated GPS Receiver on the 570, I tried different settings/com ports but i cant get it to work.
Do i need to9 download some drivers for the SD card which my TT5 is stored on ? I reckon i probably do but not 100%, if this is the case does anyone know where i can download drivers for the Integrated GPS unit on the Navman 570 ?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Cheers

Sorry, but I don't know anything about the 570. When you try to set up the GPS, what options do you have for Comports? Try each option with a baudrate of 4800. Don't worry if TTN says 'No GPS device' or similar. Leave the unit with a good view of the sky for a few minutes and this might change. _________________ Tim |

The GPS receiver runs at 9600 when using smartST 2005
I do remember my old wired GPS unit running at 4800.

Forgot to mention.... the options for GPS Receiver i receive in TT5 are...
Other Cable NMEA GPS
TomTom wireless GPS
TomTom Cable GPS
Other Bluetooth GPS
The the connection options are
SC2410 USB Cable
Com 3:
S2410 IRDA2410
S2410 UART0
GPS On Navigator
---------------------
I presume that the SmartST 2005 uses the GPS On Navigator Setting so shall i try that ? along with Other Cable NMEA GPS |

After further investigation, it appears that when using smartST 2005 the GPS receiver is connected to COM 8
But when i try and use TomTom 5 and configure the GPS Receiver there is no option for Com 8 the only options are
SC2410 USB Cable
Com 3:
S2410 IRDA2410
S2410 UART0
GPS On Navigator |
