Hello,
I have a dell x3, and am looking at the tom tom car mount, which has a wired rj11 socket for connecting power and data to the gps reciever.

Hi James
Tha ARKON Powerd mount model CM715 is the one you need. Take a look at the Arkon website. http://www.arkon.com/bluetoothgps.html and look at the third product down.
Arkon powered mounts are readily available in the uk. Check out Ebay; there are several dealers there. One that I found quickly is eBay item 5797818113. I suggest that you do your own eBay search for "Arkon"
I have two Arkon mounts and am VERY satified with them.
Hoe that helps.

I forgot to mention that although it refers to Bluetooth it does infact have the wired socket on the top that takes the receiver RJ11 connector.
There is a usb type connection underneath the unit that takes power and GPS data to the PDA. The mount also has two other sockets - one for recharging a bluetooth receiver (or similar item) and a second usb port for powering another unit/item.

That will suit you needs very nicely. The only thing to bare inmins is that it appears not to have an audio amplifier.
The speakers in PDAs are not very powerful. With a 'Powered' holder similar to the one I suggested, have built in audio amplifiers. My Arkon mount would be good inside a tank! (Almost!!)
The only reason for suggestin Arkon is from my experience with them. I hve no experience with others. There are several types/makes of 'powered' mounts available.
Unless you have a very quiet car, I would urge you to consider an amplified unit.
