not sure if this is the right post,i have recently purchased a dell axim with tomtom5 it has a receiver that fits in top slot i was told to leave for 45 mins but it has been a few days now ,when i aske were i puschsed from was told it would take a couple off days to fully lock is this the case this is a purchase for a mate my tomtom ipaq works perfectly any thoughts thanks |

It should only take a maximum of around an hour the first time you use it.
I assume that you are aware that GPS doesn't work indoors or if sourounded by tall buildings. The GPS receiver needs a clear view of the sky in order to establish a link with the satellites. |

yes i know that it should be out doors it will lock in a matter of seconds but loose it few seconds later ,this hapens constantly, my ppc locks in approx 30 seconds and stays on all day! do you think it could be the receiver i have checked the bourdrate it is 4800 ,so yuo think the company i bought on[eb.y] are not right by stating it will take 3 to 3 days for ,and i quote, the reciver to memorise the sats |

it came withcf card reciver in a bundle it will not work fed up now |
