Well physically 305 series looks that it got a bit smaller like 4 mm.
But what I dont get is..
They are both using Sirf III so why there is a difference in the following?
Warm Start
Cold start
Position Accuracy (almost by half) 14 vs. 7m
Maximum Altitude
Maximum Velocity
Sensetility
Can any one explain this please?
Also how are these compared to the 305N (beside the low consomption.) Im talking about the quality of operation.
one more thing...
How many satelites are in view from each side of the world... soes it really make any difference to have 12 or 16 or 20 simultaneous satelite tracking ability?
Thanks for education me in advance...

I can answer all those.
The dimensions are identical. The thing with Haicom is that they don't give much attention to their site. I know, I've talked with them about it.
Much of the site is made from various cuts and pastes (from manual docs, original vendor specs etc.), this is why you see discrepancies.
As for the 20 sats, indeed I doubt 20 can be seen from normal sea attitude (even with no obstacles in any direction). BUT the higher you get, the more you can see (up to a limit... surely you cannot see more than ~2/3 at any attitude). Probably 20 is just to demonstrate the "more than enough" and maybe to compensate for the FUTURE GPS compatible european sats (when the GPS network will be more dense). _________________ NLS |

you answer yourself - if you want the best performance you should get the latest (and best) chipset out there _________________ NLS |

You think the older would be better?
I think I was pretty clear. _________________ NLS |

I don't think 303 comes in Nemerix taste.
If you are going to 305 (adding also the SD slot), then maybe it's worth it. I would say (infact say in my review) that Nemerix (currently with the new firmware) IS a bit better than SiRF II/LP. Not better than SiRF III though.
But if power consumption is important (and if you use one more SD it is - this is why they gave the Nemerix option only for 305), then Nemerix is unbeatable. _________________ NLS |

well they say Nemerix can be up to 1/10 of the others' power consumption - I'd say 1/3
yes both SD will be accessible _________________ NLS |
