I'm sure this problem is familiar, but I cannot find it anywhere here. I run TTN3 with no problems. A conduit error is reported during installation. It happens on 2 PCs, before any link to the T5. I have reinstalled Palm Desktop several times - including to c:\PalmOne (a directory without any spaces in the name) - but the problem remains. Any advice? TomTom support is hopeless. |

If you mean you get an error when you HotSync after you've installed then that is in common with other Palm users on the board. This does not affect the working of TTN5 though.
If you mean during the upgrade then I'm afraid I don't know as I bought the new version (which comes with less stuff! ) |

This was during setup, after selecting where to install. I was following instructions in the manual, but I got:
Setup: internal problem (2). Cannot run Conduit. Please restart setup
It was on a PC (both my laptop and desktop), using the latest version of Palm Desktop Managar for Tungsten T5 - 4.2.4.
I was told by TomTom to uninstall Desktop and reinstall it, but it made no difference. However, I have heard that it doesn't uninstall completely and that there is a special program to 'clean it' from the registry. (I previously had a Tungsten T installed). I have searched PalmOne and elsewhere and I cannot find it. |

The only guides I can find for removing the leftovers of a Palm Desktop uinstall are out of date, they refer to Pilot and US Robotics whereas it's now Palm and PalmSource. Still if you use it as a rough guide it should help

I also came across this, no idea if it's any good but it might help with your problem.

Thanks for the links. I had come across those myself. I would rather not fork out for Conduit Buddy if there may be a specific fix for the problem. If all else fails, I will hack the registry to bits to remove the Palm software. |

I have the same problem on my TX. Actually I had it on my Lifedrive and T3 before that.
Did you manage to find a solution?
James. |
