|
|
I have downloaded some more POIs on to my TTG300. I tried to enable them but can't see them. I can't navigate to them either. I have checked and they are there in the maps directory on the TTG when I look with Windows Explorer.
These new added POIs would take me to 30 in total added. Is there a limit on the 300?
It is not my SD card as I have got a 512MB one and over 50% free.
Any ideas? Thanks! |

Hi
There is currently a limit of 27 POI categories. This is a bug which TomTom have promised to correct in a future update. |

Thanks for that. I did look in TTG support before I posted the question but could not find anything.
I will raise a support question with TT to see if another person raising this issue will put the problem higher up the fix list.
Is this problem the same on all TTG range going back to the original GO as well as all new 300 - 700 range? |

The bug is inherent in the software so affects all Go models that use the current version.
If you revert to Version 5.1 (I think!) you can have up to 40 POI categories.
Wouldn't do any harm for someone else to nag them but they are aware of the problem. |

It used to be 40 that ou could add. The reduction to 27 was mistake which they have promised to rectify.
However, 40 per map folder was just about acceptable on the original GO which had each country in a folder. It is totally inadequate for the 700 which has only one folder for the whole of western Europe.
A GB speed zoned camera set is 17 PoI categories. Multiply that by the number of countries............
And you thought you wanted to go to somewhere? _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Just noticed that I have lost more than the ones I added when I looked further following your reply, ie I have only the 27!!
Yes, I updated to 5.201 and did not notice the losses!
Do you know if it is safe to revert to 5.1?
However, where is 5.1 available as I can't find it on the TT downloads page, they have just got 5.201?
Thanks! |

Many thanks to everyone who answered and for all the help.
I have cut my POIs down so I am within the 27 limit of 5.201 and have downloaded 5.1 just in case.
I hope TT will do a fix soon though!
Regards |

Next software update (with the POI limit sorted out) "promised" for August (but I bet they had their fingers crossed behind their backs when they said it!) |
