Hi
You could try the reset button. You need a tool like a straightend-out paper clip to push up into a small hole underneath the unit. This will force the processor to restart.
If that doesn't work I'd say you have a fault. |

Same thing happened to my 500 after I had it for six days. Pressed the reset button underneath and it came back to life. Don't know why it did it in the first place.

Hi
Thanks pressed the reset its back on now
BTW I have paired my phone with the 500 and downloaded
some of my contacts to the tom tom but i can only seem to
download about 10 telephone numbers is there a limit to the
number of contacts you can hold on your tomtom
And one other thing when I take a call on the Tom Tom
the volume is low even when you put up the tom tom
volume the phone call stays the same but the tomtom
girl you can hear loud and clear on the nav
I have paired Sony Ericsson K700i with the Tom Tom I checked
its volume and its to the top at 8
Anyone have any comments

It depends where your contacts are stored - I can only speak for my Nokia 6230. My numbers are stored on the SIM card and they all copied across no problem. Check the numbers which have copied OK and check where they are stored you can then copy the rest either onto the SIM card or phone and try again.
The Handsfree has a different volume setting to the direction instructions - if you adjust the volume whilst in a call this will set your handsfree volume.
Hope this helps. _________________ Thanks,

I had the same problem with my phone, Tomtom replied that it is not supported for phone book transfer, there is a list of supported phones on the Tomtom site |

Chris_w, I have a 6230 and paired fine with Go 700 and GPRS settings. Trouble i had was when i tried to import the phone book it said on the Go mode not supported. I tried numbers from the sim card and phone with no joy. What firmware on the 6230 are you running? I think that may be the problem mine is V 04.44 date 21/9/04 |

Happy to check for you - where can I get this information from?
I don't know if this makes any difference but all my phone numbers are saved to the SIM with single number entries. After reading around, the TT seems to have a problem with numbers saved on the phone with multiple numbers assigned to them, email addresses, pictiures etc.........
Let me know how to check the firmware version and I'll take a look for you. _________________ Thanks,

I think you can update the firmware versions on your phone if you can connect it to a PC - I'm not sure how this works though. _________________ Thanks,

Hi
I like the Tom Tom but the support for it is sh8t
they need to learn how to treat their customers
My phone is on their list this is my second Tom Tom
and second phone so I could get the handsfree the
handsfree works fine but cannot adjust the volume
in handsfree call on the Tomtom there CD and booklet is useless
Mine still will only copy over about 10 phone entrys
tried for hours................
Anyone know the send number to check my firmware on phone
Sony K700i
I was even thinking about getting another phone ie 6230 but

I know the problems you are having, I ended up entering the numbers I require direct onto the file "contacts" using notepad. I have entered up 29 numbers without a problem |

The later versions are fine by the looks of it. My 6230 is 5.035 and it's OK.
just check the firmware version before you buy the phone - you could even test the tomtom with it before you buy. _________________ Thanks,
