My son and I both have these units. Mine is the Navman, his is the Mitac.
They are both running TT5 Navigator and work OK.

However, the Navman is remarkably slow to lock onto satellites (the Mio is a matter of a few seconds only). The Navman satellite display view shows all satellites in the North position (the Mio shows them scattered around the sky).

Does anyone know if there is a difference between these two units, other than the badging of course. Perhaps Navman have "altered" the firmware in some way to suit their SmartST product?

Guys.

Sorry, guess I should have investigated further before asking the question.

It is firmware related and there's a firmware update available from Mitac.

Just downloaded it and installed it and both systems are now running almost identically..... phew!!!

I'll be interested now to see what change it makes to the TT5 software when I'm out on the road.
